Puddles Series: Landscape 3

This is the third piece in my landscape puddles series. It is a very muddy path with a large puddle reflecting parts of the wood that can’t be directly seen. A long path disappears in the distance, whilst the intertwined branches connect the trees in the foreground. I am particularly fond of both the colour composition and the visual arrangement of vectors, which draws attention to the darkest area of the forest.

About this series

The Puddles series explores the intersection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional composition in landscape painting. Forest paths hold a magnetic allure for me, especially those with an unclear ending, perhaps disappearing into darkness or obscured by light fog. Puddles, on the other hand, create a striking contrast by seemingly drilling a hole in the ground, exerting a dual force that draws the eyes while pushing the feet away. They serve as portals to another dimension. In this series, I delve into juxtaposing these captivating elements, inviting viewers to experience the tension and harmony between them.
