Puddles Series: Landscape 2

This is the second piece in my landscape puddles series. A muddy dirt path leads the viewer into the dense, dark woods. Tall, dark trunks with branches intertwining above frame the scene, creating a canopy that filters the light. The lush foliage with a turquoise shade stands tall like a brick wall above the yellowish-green grass, dividing the scene in two. The water puddles reflect the canopy, leading the viewer’s eye towards an even darker path.

About this series The Puddles series explores the intersection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional composition in landscape painting. Forest paths hold a magnetic allure for me, especially those with an unclear ending, perhaps disappearing into darkness or obscured by light fog. Puddles, on the other hand, create a striking contrast by seemingly drilling a hole in the ground, exerting a dual force that draws the eyes while pushing the feet away. They serve as portals to another dimension. In this series, I delve into juxtaposing these captivating elements, inviting viewers to experience the tension and harmony between them.
