Puddles Series: Landscape 1
This is the first piece in my landscape puddles series. The scene is set in autumn or early winter, with fallen leaves scattered across the ground. Tall, slender trees with bare branches guide the viewer along the muddy and very long dirt path, while large puddles cover the ground, reflecting the serene and sombre beauty of the forest.
About this series
The Puddles series explores the intersection of two-dimensional and three-dimensional composition in landscape painting. Forest paths hold a magnetic allure for me, especially those with an unclear ending, perhaps disappearing into darkness or obscured by light fog. Puddles, on the other hand, create a striking contrast by seemingly drilling a hole in the ground, exerting a dual force that draws the eyes while pushing the feet away. They serve as portals to another dimension. In this series, I delve into juxtaposing these captivating elements, inviting viewers to experience the tension and harmony between them.
