I came across Richard Dieberkorn’s work some months ago, I was instantly drawn by one of his paintings.

Cityscape #1
1963
Why his work is interesting to me
The simplified composition, the visible changes in the saturation of colours, and how the landscape evolves in the distance. All of these elements create a certain attraction that invites you to enter the painting, and the gaze follows the pavement until reaching the top of the small hill at the back. When looking at it, somehow, I feel the tension between the foreground and background, and the painting seems to bend across the street intersection at the top.
Other work that I find interesting
I am mostly interested in his landscape / cytiscape works. These are other paintings I’ve found on the Internet.

Seawall
1957

Freeway and Aqueduct
1957
